Which kind of awning shall I get?
Posted in FAQs / Motorhomes & Caravans on 4th December 2020
If you have a motorhome or campervan and need a little extra space to live in whilst you’re on site then a porch awning will be what you need. We sell these in various different shapes, sizes and price bands and they’re available in both traditional pole and sleeve versions and the ever increasingly popular air awning versions which make putting them up hassle free.
Whichever type you choose to go for, the most important information you’ll need to hand will be the distance from the ground up to the attaching point of your vehicle. You will either need to attach to the gutter rail of your van, onto a Reimo type rail, or onto a Fiamma awning. If you have none of these then measure ground to roof, we have magnetic and suction pad options available to connect to the roof of the vehicle. Once you have this height you can head to the relevant section to select your awning.
You will have noticed lots of motorhomes and campervans with Fiamma Windout Awnings fixed to the side of them. These windout awnings are perfect for a bit of shade and quick to pull out for use in the daytime or for short breaks. If you are more of a day tripper this type will be good for you
You will either need an F45 or F80 Awning depending on the type of vehicle you have. There are a multitude of brackets available needed to fit these awnings. Unless you know exactly the type you need we advise you give us a quick call or drop us an email with your vehicle specifications so we can recommend the right one for you.
Fiamma Awnings are also available for Caravans too in the form of the Caravanstore Windout Awnings. These slide directly into your caravan awning channel. You just need to know the straight length of awning channel along the top of the caravan to gauge the maximum length Caravanstore you can buy.
