We’re all going on a summer holiday!
If you enjoy the great outdoors, fresh air and soaking up the sun, going on a camping holiday can be a fantastic choice for all the family.

Britain has some of the best countryside in Europe, so we’ve compiled a handy guide to the top 10 UK campsites to help you make the best choice.
1. Ocean Pitch, Devon
Ocean Pitch, in Croyde, Devon, is open each year from Easter until 26th September. With deluxe glamping and idyllic camping, the site offers breathtaking views and is within easy distance of one of Devon`s finest beaches, Croyde Bay.
The location is ideal for walking, cycling and surfing, with access to the South West Coastal Path. The high-quality camping facilities include toilets, BBQ bricks, campers’ fridge-freezer, free WiFi, electrical hookups, mobile phone and tablet charging, surf hire and staff on-site 24/7.
2. Globe Vale, Cornwall
Open all year round, Globe Vale Holiday Park, in the staggeringly beautiful Cornish countryside, is a dog-friendly haven for campers young and old(er)! Ideal for exploring St Ives, Newquay, Falmouth and beyond; you can even stay in a luxury Spa Lodge.
The AA top-rated five-pennant site is the perfect base to travel the coast to many beauty spots, most of which are no further than 45 minutes away – such as St Agnes Point, Sennen Cove, Newquay, St Michael’s Mount, St Ives and many more.
There are endless opportunities for cycling, fishing, sunbathing on the beach, surfing, enjoying family fun and exploring Cornwall.
3. Celtic Camping, Pembrokeshire
Celtic Camping offers coastal camping and glamping at Pwll Caerog Farm, St David’s. Set in 250 acres of open farmland, the site offers ocean views and access to the 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
As well as camping pitches for tents, large group accommodation is available, in the shape of bunk houses, the Loft House and Ivy Lodge. Various packages are on offer, including B&B, full board with hearty farmhouse meals and “surf and turf” BBQs.
The site is dog-friendly and there are various activities locally such as kayaking, paddle boarding, surf lessons, coastal walking, climbing, bushcraft and more.
4. Rothiemuchus Campsite, Inverness
Located at Coylumbridge, Aviemore, Rothiemuchus Campsite is a superb camp and caravan park, set among Caledonian pine trees. While there’s no holiday accommodation to rent, the site offers camping in a wilderness setting or on level, sheltered pitches for motorhomes and touring caravans, all with electric hook-ups.
Enjoy walking and cycling trails, or simply relax, get away from the hustle and bustle of life and watch the fascinating local wildlife.
5. Hendra Holiday Park, Cornwall
Located in Newquay, Hendra Holiday Park offers family-friendly touring, camping, caravan and lodge holidays, plus luxury glamping pods. The facilities include the Oasis Fun Pools, a kids’ club, plenty of live entertainment, a selection of food outlets and a supermarket.
The site is hosting 50th-anniversary celebratory events, including firework displays every Thursday during the summer holidays. Visitors can explore Newquay and enjoy beautiful beaches. Other attractions include Camel Creek Adventure Park, Hang Loose Adventure and Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm.
6. Folkstone Camping and Caravanning Site, Kent
Folkstone Camping and Caravanning Site, located at The Warren, Folkestone, is a popular cliff-top campsite with amazing views of the sea and the white cliffs of the Dover-Folkestone Heritage Coast. With a mix of grass and hardstanding pitches, the facilities include flushing toilets, showers, washbasins and washing machines.
The site is close to the beach and there’s easy access to coastal walks in Dover. Local heritage attractions include The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust, Dover Castle, Howletts Wild Animal Park and Canterbury Cathedral.
7. Wytch Wood Camping, Somerset
Wytch Wood Camping is a relaxed, secluded, valley retreat near Crewkerne in Somerset. Get back to nature by staying at one of 15 spacious camping pitches, or two glamping pitches, nestled in the ancient woodland and wildflower meadows at Blackmore working family farm.
A Greener Camping Club campsite, Wytch Wood offers low-impact and sustainable options for UK campers. Facilities include compost toilets, hot showers, a private seating area with a firepit or BBQ, natural spring water, sinks with hot water and a waste and recycling point. Dogs aren’t permitted at this site.
Various seasonal outdoor activities, such as soft archery and axe throwing, are available for adults and kids to unleash your inner Viking!
8. Ayr Holiday Park, St Ives
Ayr Holiday Park, in St Ives, Cornwall, welcomes the traditional under-canvas camper or those who prefer a modern caravan. There’s a choice of self-catering apartments, luxury holiday caravans and touring pitches.
The park is close to St Ives’ centre, with its quaint little streets and beautiful sandy beaches, where you can enjoy everything from surfing lessons to art galleries. There’s even an adventure playground for kids and a swimming pool for everyone to enjoy.
9. Into the Sticks, Pembrokeshire
Enjoy a wild camping experience at Into the Sticks in Letterston, Haverfordwest. Camp in a nature reserve, where you can relax, explore and let the kids play outdoors. This eco campsite operates with fair ethics and promises a low environmental impact. Discover the “Tiny Home” experience staying in a cabin, described as “better than glamping”!
The site has gas-fired showers and high-quality off-grid facilities designed and built using locally reclaimed and sustainable materials. No dogs are permitted because the site is a wildlife refuge, where there are also farm animals.
10. Holden Farm, Hampshire
Located at Alresford, Holden Farm is an independent family campsite in the Hampshire countryside within the South Downs National Park.
Arrive by bike or on foot, erect your tent and enjoy a truly traditional camping experience, where dogs are welcome. The amenities include flushing toilets and hot showers. Camp near the facilities or in a secluded spot 200 metres away.
